PeepShow AR »Created by Queen Street Studio, MOB Labs & Righteye Creative Ever wanted to take a walk, get lost, kill a couple of hours and discover the stories from the local culture? Wanted to know what creative businesses and quirky experiences exist in your neighbourhood? Where the locals go for some fun, where they meet people and get inspiration? PeepShowAR is a smartphone app created for the curious which uses cutting edge augmented reality technology to offer curated tours of the Surry Hills and Darlinghurst areas through the eyes of artists and creatives who live, work or play within the 2010 postcode. PeepShow AR launched for Art & About Sydney 2011 on 15–16 October 2011. Participants came to Heffron Hall between 11am-5pm (on the hour, every hour), downloaded the app, and explored a side of Surry Hills and Darlinghurst that they’d never seen before. PEEPSHOW 2008: Chippendale... behind closed doorsSunday 19th October, 2008 | Tours departed from FraserStudios. Participants took a voyeuristic urban safari and discovered the secrets lurking behind the doors of the Chippendale community. Once an industrial slum, this eclectic suburb is now home to some of Sydney’s most innovative institutions and artists. Guided tours gave audiences an intimate and interactive experience of the cultural life of this infamous precinct. No one knew where they’d find themselves, what they’d experience or who they’d be with. PEEPSHOW: Chippendale... behind closed doors consisted of 4 themed tours each taking audiences to 4 different locations across the suburb of Chippendale. These tours were repeated 4 times — each leaving FraserStudios at intervals of 30 minutes. On these tours, audiences were encouraged to experience the creative industries and artists that make this eclectic suburb truly unique. Once completed, the tours would return to base where audiences could soak up the atmosphere at FraserStudios.
