WELCOME TO QUEEN STREET STUDIO
Queen Street Studio is a non-profit organisation which provides creative development and rehearsal studio space run by artists for artists. Opened in June 2005, Queen Street Studio is a response to the lack of affordable and appropriate space for artists in Sydney to practise their craft. The organisation manages studios in an inner-city suburb of Sydney less than 2kms west of the CBD:
Studio 14 is a low-cost, no-frills facility featuring a large open-plan rehearsal area appropriate for theatre/dance rehearsals, creative developments, training and workshops. Queen Street Studio also produces professional development programs for Sydney’s independent performing arts community as well as residency programs for both the performing and visual arts sectors. The studios are managed by local artists Sam Chester and James Winter who are supported by a board of management made up of industry peers. Queen Street Studio is a member-based organisation and is open to individuals and groups who identify as "emerging, independent or established performing artists". Located in Chippendale, the studios are a 3-minute walk from Central Station and Railway Square.
