Originally from the UK, John and his family – after extensive travel – settled in NZ in the Mid ’70s. After finishing school, college and a couple of years work in NZ, John decided to try his luck in Sydney. He has been working in Australian magazines as an Art Director since 1984 on titles such as The Good Weekend, Belle, The Bulletin and Reader’s Digest. John has also worked as an illustrator during this time, using mainly stencils, pen + ink and computer. Over the past ten years John has been sculpting in wood using discarded objects such as chairs, tables, shed palings and industrial palettes. He has been involved in a couple of group shows. |
