LINDA LUKE has been an independent dance-performance maker since 1997. These days, Linda’s research lies in the art of Bodyweather, a dance practice derived from Japan. In 2007, through generous support from Asialink, Linda traveled to Japan for several months where she participated in a seven-week immersive workshop with Min Tanaka who founded the artform.

Linda joined Australia’s Bodyweather based company De Quincey Co in 2004. Recent productions include FIVE Short Solos, Performance Space (2005) and Dictionary of Atmospheres, Alice Springs Festival (2005). Alongside performing in these productions, Linda has been integral in developing the company’s ongoing training program for Bodyweather dancers and the performance/dance community in Sydney. She has also performed short works at various venues in Sydney over the years.

In August 2008, Linda will tour her solo work ‘Borderlines’ to three venues – in Melbourne, Campbelltown and central Sydney. In November 2008, she will perform with De Quincey Co in Triptych, Performance Space, Carriageworks.

Linda has had a wide variety of experience as a performer, dramaturge and co-director for performances and events in Sydney and Melbourne as well as in United Arab Emirates and Greece. Linda holds a degree in BA in Communications, University of Technology – Sydney.
