With an eclectic childhood, Ramona, who grew up in several countries, takes naturally to blending styles. This has helped Sirens’ founder and choreographer, to become one of Sydney’s most unique dancers.
Ramona studied the classical Indian dance Bharathanatyam under Anandavalli at Lingalayam dance academy, which she fuses with contemporary, jazz, hip hop and funk to create her entertaining bollywood choreography.
She brings energy and vibrance to Australian bollywood through her popular classes at Dance Central and by choreographing pieces for companies such as Powerhouse Youth Theatre and the Optus World Gala Dinner.
Other dance highlights include the World Hip Hop Championships in Belgium, sell-out concerts Big Day Out, Livid, Rumba and Groove.
Ramona has also performed with contemporary dance company Red Opal, and with champion hip hop crews Suppology, Resonate and Caramell.
Bollywood holds personal significance to Ramona because it encourages expression and unity between people, irrespective of their backgrounds. |
