Victoria Hunt is an Australian-born artist living in Sydney on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora nation. Victoria is of mixed descent, Ngati Tuhourangi, Te Arawa Maori, English, Irish and Finnish.

Victoria’s visual arts background and years in a Body Weather dance practice provide a powerful basis for an embodiment of place and philosophies of body and being. Her work engages with concepts of Maori creativity that are philosophically and theoretically liminal, situational and bound to the cultural conditions surrounding it.

Victoria is currently developing in collaboration with others a new solo work titled Copper Promises, supported by Performance Space’s Residency Program, Dance Board and the prestigious Hybrid Performance Award, Interarts Office, Australia Council for the Arts 2007-08.

She is a founding dance performer with Body Weather dance ensemble, De Quincey Co since 1999, and has been involved in the development of company work, which has comprised of more than 20 productions nationally and internationally. Body Weather is a synthesis of eastern and western practice and thought.
