> Wednesday evenings 6pm – 9pm: 5, 12, 19, 26 August 2009
Registration and payment deadline: 30 July 2009

Performance-maker Rosie Dennis will lead 4-sessions during August that focus on solo-performance making. Each week will be a mixture of process and practicalities.

For the process part of the TOOLKIT Rosie will suggest parameters that assist in generating, shaping and structuring spoken-word content.
For the practicalities part of the workshop she will attempt to unpack the beast of self-producing and share some tips and resources that have enabled her to extend the life of a work.

ROSIE DENNIS is a Sydney-based performance-maker, writer, teacher and curator. Since 2004 Rosie has self-produced three performance works – Access All Areas/No Entry, Love Song Dedication and Hitting A Brick Wall and independently toured all three works internationally to festivals in Europe and the United Kingdom. Recent commissions include: Urban Theatre Projects, Intersections to begin researching a new work with Paul Gazzola and Jeff Stein, Campbelltown Arts Centre to begin making the new work Flat 4, No 3, Arnolfini (UK), bluecoat Theatre Liverpool (UK) and Performance Space, Sydney to make the new work Fraudulent Behaviour, Kunstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt for The Plateaux Festival to make the companion piece, No Entry to Access All Areas, ABC TV and Channel 4 UK to make the short dance film Quietly Collapsed with Sam James, The Strand Ephemera Festival (Townsville) to make the short work The Woman And The Sea with Vic McEwan.
Rosie co-curates NightTime a twice-yearly event at Performance Space in Sydney with Lara Thoms. She also curates Unco-cordinated which is an evening of short works held 4-times per year at FraserStudios in Chippendale. She is a classically trained musician in piano and flute – which informs her current arts practice.
