Contemporary and Tribal Fusion Bellydance
Hilary has called Queen Street her bellydance home since the studio opened in June 2005 and holds classes for all levels on Tuesday nights.
Tribal fusion bellydance is a uniquely flavoured dance style that blends the exotic and earthy movements found in Middle Eastern, Central Asian and North African folk traditions, with modern interpretations and urban edges.
These movements, that showcase graceful body isolations, are then set to contemporary cross culture alternative sounds, traditional tribal rhythms or live musicians to deliver a powerfully elegant performance or entertainment experience.
Hilary is a Sydney-based dancer who has been performing and teaching tribal bellydance styles since 2004. Primarily a soloist she also collaborates with other dancers from the Sydney area. She is a fire artist and includes fire props in her shows (when appropriate). Along with regular performances at nightclubs, functions and festivals she also teaches weekly classes and occasional workshops.
